Star Vijay son Jason Sanjay to turn hero after directorial debut

Director Jason Sanjay, son of star Vijay, plans to shift paths and enter the film industry as a lead actor following his recent directorial project titled 'Sigma'. The film 'Sigma' featured Tollywood hero Sundeep Kishan and hit theatres on October 2, but failed to impress audiences at the box office. This poor result left Jason Sanjay and his fans disappointed as he missed out on a hit with his very first outing.

New Project

Industry buzz suggests that Jason Sanjay will now step in front of the camera to follow his father's footsteps as a hero. Latest reports indicate that star director Atlee will produce this upcoming project under the Lyca Productions banner. Director Keerthyishwaran, known for the movie 'Dude', is expected to helm the film. Meanwhile, Keerthyishwaran has already committed to a project with hero Simbu, but Simbu reportedly responded positively when informed about this new film offer for Jason Sanjay. More clarity on this venture is expected in the coming days.

Context

Film families in the Indian movie industry often see children transition between behind-the-camera roles like directing and acting in front of the camera. Production houses like Lyca Productions regularly collaborate with prominent directors to launch new talent.
