Shares of Reliance Industries opened higher at one thousand one hundred seventy rupees and forty paise on the National Stock Exchange before dropping to an intraday low of one thousand one hundred sixty-one rupees and fifty paise. The stock trades close to its fifty-two-week low of one thousand one hundred fifty-two rupees and twenty paise ahead of the company's Q2 earnings report.

Expert Earnings Projections

Market experts estimate that the Mukesh Ambani-led company may report a net profit exceeding twenty-two thousand crore rupees for the September quarter. Analysts project a year-on-year profit growth between sixteen and twenty-three percent, largely driven by improvements in the Oil-to-Chemicals business. Avinash Gorakshkar, founder of Avinash Mentor Research, expects net profit to reach around twenty-two thousand three hundred crore rupees with a forty to forty-five percent jump in the Oil-to-Chemicals segment.

Segment Performance And Targets

Anuj Gupta, a SEBI-registered market expert, notes that Oil-to-Chemicals earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization could grow between thirty-eight and forty-seven percent year-on-year, supported by strong middle-distillate cracks and a weaker rupee. Meanwhile, Reliance Retail is expected to show muted performance with revenue growth between seven and twelve percent due to margin pressures from digital commerce investments. Mahesh M Ojha of KC Securities points out a strong base at one thousand one hundred forty-five rupees, setting short-term targets up to one thousand three hundred fifty rupees.

Context

Major corporate earnings reports often trigger sudden share price movements as traders react to shifting profit margins across core business segments like retail and energy. Share values frequently fluctuate in anticipation of quarterly results before stabilizing once actual financial data becomes public.
