Bharat Rashtra Samithi general secretary R.S. Praveen Kumar has accused the state body for foreign jobs of cheating unemployed young people. He claimed that the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Ltd has turned into a scam. Labour and Employment Minister G. Vivek promoted this body to help locals find work abroad. The government released notices through this agency for jobs in Germany across fields like nursing, driving, and technology.

Job Fraud Details

Many young job seekers paid four lakh ten thousand rupees each to an outside agency tied to the official notice. These candidates spent six months studying the German language at an institute in Hyderabad. Their agreement forms showed the name of a private firm instead of the state manpower company. Later, applicants paid twenty thousand rupees more for a language test and traveled to Chennai. Although hundreds passed the test, fewer than ten people actually flew abroad for work. Once they reached Germany, workers did not get technical roles and had to take up odd jobs instead. The opposition leader demanded criminal charges against the private firm and a full refund for the affected youth.

Context

State-run overseas manpower agencies are meant to protect local job seekers from fraud by working with verified foreign employers. When recruitment tasks are passed on to private third-party agents, candidates often face hidden costs and lack official legal safeguards. This case highlights the risks that young job seekers face when overseas employment promises fail to match reality.
