Mahindra is testing its upcoming electric SUV, likely to be called the BE 7, ahead of a planned launch around 2027. New spy shots show a test model plugged into a public charger in Karnataka, expected to be Bengaluru.
Design Features
The BE 7 is larger than the existing BE 6 and includes several new design elements. It features frameless doors that lower their windows slightly when opened and raise them back up automatically when closed. The vehicle uses flush door handles that pop out fully using a motorized system, similar to designs seen on Tesla and BYD models. Other exterior details include massive C-shaped LED lights, an angular body shape, a clamshell bonnet and tail gate, a sporty rear spoiler with a hidden wiper, and two cameras mounted in the spoiler that suggest a digital inside rear-view mirror.
Interior And Tech
Inside, the cabin takes design cues from the original concept and shares elements like the centre console and seats with the BE 6. Previous spy shots confirm a three-screen setup on the dashboard. Additional expected features include ventilated seats, a 16-speaker Harman audio system with 1400 watts of power, the Adrenox software suite, level-two plus advanced driver assistance systems, powered seats, ambient lighting, and automated parking.
Context
Automakers routinely test new vehicles under heavy camouflage on public roads to evaluate their performance and durability in real-world conditions before production begins. Electric vehicle manufacturers are increasingly adding advanced technology and premium design features to attract buyers in the growing battery-powered car market.
