Rain fell across five districts in Telangana on Friday, October 30, with measurements ranging from 10 mm to 23 mm. Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda and Sangareddy each recorded rain within that range. Parts of Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri also saw showers that lasted until 5 p.m., according to observations by the Telangana Development Planning Society. In Hyderabad, clouds moved in during the evening rush hour, covering the sun that had dominated most of the day. The India Meteorological Department’s Hyderabad centre issued an update at 4:54 p.m., forecasting light to moderate rain over the city’s southeastern and western areas for the next two hours. Residents were advised to expect brief showers as the day ended.
Context
The rain comes during Telangana’s post‑monsoon period, when isolated showers are common in October. The IMD’s short‑term forecasts help city services prepare for sudden changes in weather, especially during peak traffic times.
