Anil Kapoor Shares Memories of Shah Rukh Khan and Shooting at Mannat

Actor Anil Kapoor recently shared old memories about Shah Rukh Khan, including the time they met before Shah Rukh entered the film industry and an early connection to the star's famous home, Mannat. Speaking on the reality show India Ke Top 1%, which he hosts on Star Plus, Anil talked about meeting Shah Rukh when the younger actor visited him during the shoot of the movie Benaam Badshah. Anil said he knew right then by looking into Shah Rukh's eyes that he would grow up to become a huge star.

Property And Past Days

Anil also revealed that he filmed portions of his 1988 movie Tezaab at the very property that later became Mannat, long before Shah Rukh bought it in the year 2000. Before purchasing the sea-facing Bandstand bungalow in Bandra, Shah Rukh lived in a flat with friends on Carter Road after moving to Mumbai in 1991. Anil mentioned that Shah Rukh always had a big dream of owning a grand house by the sea and worked hard to make it happen. The property is currently undergoing renovation after the Khan family moved out temporarily last year.

Upcoming Projects

Beyond past memories, the two actors share a professional history that includes starring together in the 1995 film Trimurti, which failed to perform well at the box office. They are now set to share the screen once more in an upcoming movie titled King, directed by Siddharth Anand and scheduled for release on December 24. That upcoming film also features Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhishek Bachchan.
