Filmmaker Hardik Gajjar has slated two period films – “Tana Riri” for October 2027 and “Ajay Abhimanyu ki Mahabharat” for June 2028 – as his next projects after the hit “Krishnavataram”. “Tana Riri” will draw on Gujarat’s 16th‑century folklore about the twin sisters Tana and Riri, who hailed from Vadnagar and were famed for their musical talent. The film reunites “Krishnavataram” actor Sanskruti Jayana with Gajjar and aims to link the sisters’ story to Indian classical music. The first poster shows the twins walking through a kingdom’s gate, hinting at a lavish period setting. The second film, “Ajay Abhimanyu ki Mahabharat”, retells the courageous and sacrificial episode of warrior Abhimanyu from the Kurukshetra war, a key chapter of the Hindu epic. Both movies are directed by Gajjar and produced by Athashrikatha Motion Pictures LLP. Together the announcements highlight Gajjar’s intent to explore two distinct strands of Indian storytelling – one rooted in Gujarat’s cultural history and the other in the pan‑Indian Mahabharata narrative.

Context
