Diljit Dosanjh performed to a full house of about 70,000 fans at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, even after several attempts were made to cancel the show.
What Happened
Diljit opened with "Morni" and sang hits like "G.O.A.T.", "Ikk Kudi", "Lalkara", "Ishq Di Baajiyaan", "Naina, Kinni Kinni", "Case", "Panjtaara", "Hass Hass", "Water" and "Saanson Ki Mala". The six‑hour show featured multiple outfit changes, choreography, a suspended‑in‑air performance and several fans invited on stage. The concert lasted nearly six hours and allowed entry for audiences aged five and above.
Reaction
Diljit thanked the Delhi Police, CRPF and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation after a suicide‑bombing threat email forced stronger security. He invited a female police officer on stage, calling her a mother figure and recalling his own mother’s concern. He also addressed criticism over his June comments on the NEET paper‑leak protests, repeating his support for fans and denying any call to violence. In an Instagram live after the show, he said many people had tried desperately to stop the concert but affirmed his commitment to perform in India until Dec 20.
What's Next
The next stop of the AURA World Tour is Indore on November 15, with tickets starting at Rs 3,500.
Context
Large stadium concerts in India often face heightened security after threats, and artists routinely thank police and rail authorities for safe event management.
