A 29‑year‑old woman died in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh after being repeatedly stabbed by a stalker at her rented home on Friday night.
What Happened
The victim, who worked at a local bakery, lived in a rented room in Jangareddygudem and hailed from Tangedikonda village in Polavaram mandal. On Friday evening she was alone when Ramakrishna, a man from the same village, entered the house and attacked her with a knife. He fled the scene after the assault.
Reaction
Police inspector M V Subhash said a murder case was filed and a manhunt began to locate Ramakrishna. Neighbours called an ambulance; the woman was first taken to the Jangareddygudem area hospital and later transferred to a private hospital in Rajamahendravaram. While receiving treatment she gave a statement saying the person who had been stalking her in the name of love had stabbed her. She succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
Context
Such cases highlight the dangers of personal stalking in small towns, where relationships can turn violent and law‑enforcement response often involves quick registration of a murder FIR and pursuit of the accused.
