Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput and Ishaan Khatter to star in Netflix Diwali special

Shahid Kapoor, his wife Mira Rajput, and his brother Ishaan Khatter are appearing together for the first time on a special Diwali episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, streaming on Netflix on October 31 at 8 pm. Netflix India has released a promo for the episode hosted by Kapil Sharma.

The Promo Highlights

The promo opens with Shahid and Ishaan dancing to 'Zingaat', a popular song from the movie Sairat that was also used in Ishaan's Hindi film Dhadak. Shahid shared a funny memory about raising his younger brother, saying he changed Ishaan's diapers as a baby and now jokes that Ishaan has promised to change his in old age. When Kapil asked Mira to name her husband's most irritating habit, she shocked everyone by asking for just 'one', leaving Shahid surprised and the audience laughing. Shahid later joked that the show's team told them to act like a happy family for the Diwali special.

Family Life And Past Shows

Kapil also asked Mira if Shahid spoils their children, Misha and Zain, whom they welcomed in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Mira agreed he is an indulgent father, while Shahid joked that he drives fast but safe and spoils his kids. Shahid and Mira got married on July 7, 2015, in an arranged marriage in Delhi through their families' shared connection to the Radha Soami spiritual community. Their marriage drew attention due to their age gap and different backgrounds, with Shahid being an established actor and Mira being outside the film industry before later becoming an entrepreneur.

Context

Talk shows often bring real-life celebrity families together for festival specials to give fans a more personal look at their relationships. Shahid and Mira previously appeared together on Koffee With Karan in January 2017, and Shahid appeared with Ishaan on the same show in 2018, but this marks their first joint appearance together as a trio.
