Single Mother Almas Khan Wins Rs 5 Lakh on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 After Stumbling on US President Trivia

Jaipur resident Almas Khan claimed a prize of Rs 5 lakh on the September 30 episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 after missing a question about American presidents. A single mother raising two sons, Almas has worked as a teacher and an assistant sales manager while continuing her education and running a tiffin service to support her household.

Game Journey

Almas earned her place on the quiz show during India Challenger Week, a special format featuring a rapid buzzer round and a mini-game called Jaldi 5 instead of the traditional Fastest Finger First process. After answering five questions correctly in the mini-game, she advanced directly to the sixth question worth Rs 25,000. She used multiple helps along the way, including the Audience Poll for the Rs 2 lakh tier, a MahaFlip lifeline to swap out the Rs 3 lakh question, and the Sanket Soochak option to secure Rs 5 lakh. Later in the Super Sandook round, she answered five more questions correctly and chose a 50:50 lifeline, which she deployed on the Rs 7.5 lakh question.

The Exit Question

The game ended for Almas at the twelfth question worth Rs 12.5 lakh, which asked for the most common first name among American presidents out of four choices: John, George, William, and James. She guessed George, but the correct answer was James. Six US leaders shared that given name, including Madison, Monroe, Polk, Buchanan, Garfield, and Carter. Her departure left her with the Rs 5 lakh prize she had locked in earlier.
