Representative image · PexelsActor Swara Bhasker recently opened up about a disturbing personal experience from the early days of her career, involving an unnamed film director who behaved inappropriately. Speaking on the show Rise & Fall 2 to fellow participants Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary and Tej Pratap Yadav, Swara explained that the incident took place shortly after the success of the movie Tanu Weds Manu, in which she played a supporting role.
Rehearsal Request
Swara stated that the filmmaker first began sending her text messages containing poetry about her physical appearance. She mentioned that the situation escalated when the director asked her to practice a romantic scene with him in private. When she asked why the other actor and the camera crew were not being asked to join the session, the director insisted they discuss it alone. Swara noted that she was the only woman staying at the guesthouse at the time.
Late Night Fear
The situation worsened when Swara discovered that both the director and the cinematographer had been drinking heavily from a bottle that was already half empty. She stated that she felt deeply frightened being a young woman in her early twenties alone with two intoxicated men, and she quickly left that area. However, the trouble continued later that night when the filmmaker came to her room.
Door Knocking
Swara recalled that the director banged on her door repeatedly at night, making her fear he might break it down. When she finally opened the door, she saw him swaying and demanding a hug. She refused his demand and told him directly that he was terrifying her, but she felt helpless to do anything further because he was the director of the project. She did not reveal the name of the filmmaker or the specific film during her conversation on the show.
