Chennai-based jewellery brand VBJ plans to launch an Initial Public Offering in three to four years. Managing Directors Amarendran Vummidi and Jithendra Vummidi stated that the company expects to reach a revenue of 3,000 crore rupees in the 2026-2027 financial year. The firm aims to hit 5,000 crore rupees in annual revenue soon after, and reach a 10,000 crore rupee turnover within three years. Revenue growth will rely on expanding the store network and rising gold prices.

Expansion Plans

The brand launched a 21,000 square foot store in Coimbatore with an investment of 900 crore rupees for land, building, and stock. VBJ plans to open new outlets in Tiruchi, Hyderabad, and T-Nagar by the end of the current financial year. It will invest 350 crore rupees each in Chrompet, T-Nagar, and Tiruchi. Abroad, the company runs one store in Texas and plans to open another in California in January. VBJ is also building in-house technology to offer digital gold for young buyers.

Context

Going public allows private companies to raise large amounts of capital from the public stock market to fund rapid business expansion. Many established Indian retail brands choose this route after building a strong regional and national presence to fuel their next phase of growth.
