Drinking water supply will be partially disrupted in several parts of Hyderabad from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4. The 36-hour disruption is necessary for repair works on the Gandipet conduit.

Repair Work Details

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board will fix leaks in the 20 million gallons per day capacity conduit near Sabza Colony, Tolichowki, and Manikonda.

Affected Areas

The cuts will impact Red Hills, Nampally, Mallepally, Sitarambagh, Karwan, Goshamahal, Chintal Basti, Vijayanagar Colony, Asif Nagar, Ahmed Nagar, Domalguda, Gandhinagar, and parts of Banjara Hills. However, areas that get water from the Krishna, Godavari, and Singur-Manjira projects will not face any supply issues.

Context

Routine pipeline maintenance is common in large urban water networks to prevent major bursts and reduce water loss from leaks. Consumers in affected areas typically store water in advance to manage short-term supply halts.
