Harley-Davidson is expanding into the small-capacity motorcycle market with the new 2027 Sprint 440.
Specifications And Build
The motorcycle runs on a 440cc two-valve air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers 27 horsepower and 28 pound-feet of torque. This motor pairs with a six-speed transmission and a slip-assist clutch. For stopping power, the bike features ABS-equipped disc brakes with a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc. The machine rides on cast aluminum wheels with a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear. Suspension duties are handled by inverted front forks and dual rear shocks with preload adjustment.
Features And Design
The Sprint 440 features a circular 3.5-inch color TFT display that shows speed, fuel details, and trip meters. All lighting, including the turn signals, headlight, and taillight, uses LED technology. A USB-C charging port sits directly above the headlight. Harley-Davidson will also sell various accessories like a windshield, engine guard, and saddlebags, alongside alternative seats. The bike has a 9-liter fuel tank and comes in color options including Dark Billiard Grey, Vivid Black, and Teal Thunder.
Pricing And Availability
US-market models will be built at Harley's factory in York, Pennsylvania, following development work done alongside Hero MotoCorp. The bike will make its public debut at EICMA 2026 in Milan, with a US introduction set for spring 2027. While official US pricing is not yet confirmed, the bike will cost $8,499 CAD in Canada, which equals about $6,100. That price tag sits nearly $4,000 below Harley's current entry-level model, the 975cc Nightster.
Context
Entry-level motorcycles with small single-cylinder engines have grown very popular as riders look for cheaper options. Harley-Davidson previously sold single-cylinder bikes under the Sprint name in the 1960s and 1970s. This new release brings back that classic nameplate to attract newer and budget-conscious riders.
