Encroachment Demolition

HYDRAA demolished illegal structures and compound walls built inside the Full Tank Level of Fox Sagar lake in Hyderabad on Monday, November 2, 2026. The action aimed to clear illegal constructions and restore the water body.

Farmhouse Action

Officers targeted a farmhouse belonging to family members of former Minister Ch. Malla Reddy at Dulapally village. Workers had filled parts of the lake area with earth and built a compound wall and gate. Nearly 15 acres of land owned by the former minister's family fell inside the lake boundaries in survey number 124. Officials also cleared a half-kilometre bund, iron fencing, and another wall covering roughly 20 acres in survey numbers 41 and 42 of Jeedimetla.

Context

Government agencies in growing cities often target illegal constructions near water bodies to prevent urban flooding and protect natural drainage paths. Full Tank Level boundaries mark the maximum water storage capacity of a lake and building permanent structures inside them violates local land laws.
