Tempsens Instruments shares surged 17 percent on Tuesday, November 3, extending a strong post-listing rally that puts the stock about 89 percent above its initial public offering price of 300 rupees after just over two months on the market.

Growth And Margins

Consolidated revenue from operations rose 34 percent year-on-year to 136.31 crore rupees in the second quarter, bringing the total for the first half of the financial year to 255.02 crore rupees, which is a 33.7 percent increase from the same period last year. Higher operating costs tied to capacity expansion and international acquisitions caused the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization margin to drop to 21.2 percent in the first half of the year compared to 25.2 percent previously. Employee benefit expenses jumped 40.7 percent to 42.06 crore rupees due to a larger headcount and an employee stock ownership plan charge of 1.14 crore rupees.

Market Outlook

Gaurav Arora, Head of Research at SAHI, said the stock has formed a broadening wedge pattern and is seeing strong buying interest alongside higher trading volumes. Arora pointed to 600 rupees as the next possible upside level and noted that buyers currently control the trend.
