During the meeting, the Indian Embassy stated that Mr. Doval expressed gratitude for the President's support in strengthening the India-Vietnam Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Key Meetings

Mr. Doval briefed the Vietnamese President on the outcomes of his talks with senior leaders in the country and recalled Mr. Lam's State visit to India in May. He also held discussions with Vietnam's Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang. The two sides talked about cooperation in law enforcement, cyber security, maritime security, and economic security, agreeing to build better capacity in these areas. In addition, Mr. Doval met Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang to review ongoing bilateral defence ties.

Future Plans

During his trip, the National Security Adviser met Foreign Affairs Minister Le Hoai Trung to talk about ways to mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam in 2027. Mr. Doval also visited the historic Quan Su Pagoda in Hanoi, which serves as the headquarters of the National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the visit allowed both nations to check progress under their partnership, which was upgraded during Mr. Lam's visit to India in May when the two countries set a goal to reach $25 billion in annual bilateral trade by 2030.

Context
