Reported by Rohit Yadav (Staff Writer) · The Hindu - Business ·
HRV Pharma, a virtual drug maker headquartered in Hyderabad, announced on Tuesday that it will acquire 100% of Phatebo GmbH, a licensed pharmaceutical wholesaler in Germany that focuses on clinical‑trial supply. The deal moves HRV beyond its active‑pharmaceutical‑ingredient (API) business into finished‑formulation production and gives the company a fully licensed operating base in Europe. HRV did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction. Phatebo reported revenues of about ₹350 crore in 2025, according to HRV. The acquisition is being made from ZeroStack Corp, with definitive agreements already signed. Founded in 2015, Phatebo sources investigational, comparator and ancillary medicines, including innovative branded therapies, for global pharmaceutical firms and clinical‑research organisations. It runs quality systems that meet Good Distribution Practice standards and also trades pharmaceuticals and medical devices across Europe and other markets. The German unit will retain its name and continue operating from Hilzingen under Managing Director Martin Lisker, keeping its existing team and customer contracts intact. “Bringing them into the HRV family gives us our first finished formulations business, alongside the API portfolio we have built since 2015,” said Hari Kiran Chereddi, founder, managing director and CEO of HRV Pharma.## Context The acquisition reflects a wider trend of Indian pharma companies expanding overseas to secure end‑to‑end drug supply chains and tap into European regulatory markets.
