Yami Gautam asks media to stop using AI to change her public photos

Actor Yami Gautam has asked the media not to use artificial intelligence to change or improve her photos from public events. On Sunday, she shared a post on her X account asking news outlets to use her pictures in their original form. She stated that changing a person's image using AI without their permission is wrong.

Wider AI Concerns

This request follows recent cases of AI misuse involving other film actors. Last week, the Bombay High Court ordered social media platforms to remove unauthorized content and deepfakes featuring actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu. A manipulated AI video of the song Chuttamalle from the film Devara Part 1 also spread online recently. Actor Jr NTR strongly condemned this morphed video, while actor Chiranjeevi urged the Telugu film industry to unite against such misuse.

Upcoming Film

Meanwhile, Yami is preparing for the release of her upcoming movie titled Nayyi Navelli. She plays a character named Mohini who is a new daughter-in-law in the Awasthi family. The story follows her moving into her new home before secrets about her character come to light. The movie also stars Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee and Prateek Pachori. It will release in theatres on October 16.
