VinFast trims price of VF MPV 7 by Rs 4.1 lakh, new price Rs 20.39 lakh
Reported by Kunal Bhatia (Senior Writer) · Rushlane ·
VinFast has reduced the ex‑showroom price of its VF MPV 7 by Rs 4.1 lakh, bringing the cost down to Rs 20.39 lakh. The cut follows a tepid market response to the original Rs 24.49 lakh launch price, which the company flagged with the “One India, One Price” tagline. The new price now places the seven‑seater EV alongside rivals such as Mahindra’s XEV 9S at Rs 20.65 lakh and MG’s Tomahawk EV at Rs 19.49 lakh, while still undercutting the imported BYD eMax 7 at Rs 27.9 lakh. VinFast, currently the fourth‑largest EV seller in India, moved 2,964 units in September 2026, trailing JSW MG Motor, Mahindra Auto and Tata Motors. The firm has also launched a ride‑hail cab service using a commercial version of the MPV 7 called Limo Green. The VF MPV 7 measures 4,740 mm in length with a 2,840 mm wheelbase, features a minimalist exterior with a large window area, and offers two interior themes centred around a 10.1‑inch touchscreen. Inside, three rows of seats accommodate up to seven passengers. The price reduction is expected to revive interest among buyers who had put the model on hold. ## Context The Indian market is highly price‑sensitive, especially for electric vehicles, so even modest discounts can shift demand. VinFast’s strategy mirrors its earlier pricing of the VF 6 and VF 7, which sold reasonably well after competitive pricing.
