Hero MotoCorp has showcased its new VIDA UBX electric motorcycle prototype at the EICMA 2026 event. Billed as a neo-naked urban explorer and proto-vehicle, this model evolves from the earlier UBEX concept and features gold-finished upside-down forks, revised bodywork, and a sculpted silver-finished swingarm.

Design Details

The motorcycle features an aggressive streetfighter profile with a compact front end, a raised tail, and exposed frame sections. The red upper bodywork displays large VIDA lettering, while the grey side panels carry contour-map-style graphics. At the front, a central projector lamp sits inside an illuminated outline, and the machine includes a long single-piece seat with a raised pillion section, split grab handles, handguards, and conventional mirrors.

Features and Range

A large colour instrument display on the prototype shows speed, battery charge, estimated remaining range, and a Custom 2 setting. The switchgear includes a mode button, parking control, and cruise-control-style markings. The display shows 134 kilometres of remaining range at an 80 percent charge, pointing to roughly 168 kilometres on a full charge. Meanwhile, VIDA has not yet disclosed official battery capacity, motor output, charging details, or exact launch specifications, though a market introduction is expected in 2027.

Context

Electric vehicle manufacturers frequently showcase near-production prototypes at major global motor shows like EICMA to gauge public and market interest before finalizing commercial production models. Concept-to-production timelines often span several months or years while companies refine powertrain configurations, homologation requirements, and pricing strategies for target markets.
