Reported by Kunal Bhatia (Senior Writer) · The Hindu - National ·
Sabarimala pilgrims can now access train and bus schedules, file complaints against overcharging, and find medical centres through a single digital platform ahead of the annual pilgrimage season starting on November 17. The Pathanamthitta District Disaster Management Authority has expanded its Sabari Portal, available at sabariportaldcpta.in, alongside a WhatsApp-based chatbot to serve as a digital guide covering Pampa, Nilackal, and the Sannidhanam.
Context
Digital portals and chatbots are increasingly used by public authorities in India to manage massive crowds and provide real-time updates during major religious festivals and pilgrimage seasons. This platform helps devotees navigate essential services and lodge grievances efficiently in busy transit areas.
