Telangana Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha has told officials to speed up pending work at the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital and make sure it is fully equipped before it opens.

Project Review

The minister checked construction progress for the Warangal facility and the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences hospitals at Alwal and LB Nagar during a meeting in Hyderabad. With the Warangal opening coming up, he looked at floor plans and told officials to focus first on what is needed for outpatient services. This includes registration counters, consultation rooms, a pharmacy, and tests. People from the building agencies promised that all outpatient infrastructure, along with six operation theatres, will be finished by November 15.

Medical Care And Oversight

The minister stated that the hospital must offer all necessary care under one roof so patients do not need to go elsewhere for treatment. He also ordered a government-appointed doctor team to regularly visit the Warangal hospital and the TIMS sites to check on preparedness and work progress. Officials reported that the Alwal TIMS hospital is in its final stages with medical equipment currently being installed. Meanwhile, the LB Nagar TIMS facility is set to reach its final construction stage by March 2027.

Context

Large public health infrastructure projects like super specialty hospitals and TIMS facilities aim to expand access to advanced medical care for citizens outside major metropolitan centres. Regular ministerial reviews and site visits help hold construction agencies to strict deadlines before public facilities officially open.
