What Happened
TVK organised the ceremony to felicitate the toppers from Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram districts. Vijay stood on the stage and presented certificates and flowers to each student.
Advice
Vijay told the youngsters to nurture their individuality and stay focused on their goals. He said confidence and conviction lead to success. He warned against bribery, corruption and drug use, urging them to develop a habit of saying no to anything harmful. He described himself as an elder brother rather than a politician, adding that he had not come to talk about politics or the 2029 elections. He reminded them that obstacles often signal that others recognise their potential, and they should not be discouraged.
Context
Such felicitation events are common in Tamil Nadu, where state leaders often celebrate academic excellence to encourage youth. TVK is a regional party that frequently partners with the government on educational initiatives.
