The Central Board of Film Certification has cleared the trailer of Salman Khan's war drama Maatrubhumi, awarding it a U/A 16+ rating. The CBFC listed the clearance on Wednesday, November 4, and noted the trailer runs for 4 minutes and 43 seconds. The film, originally announced as Battle Of Galwan and renamed Maatrubhumi earlier this year, is based on the 2020 India‑China border clash. Earlier reports had set the theatrical release for November 13, but a delay in obtaining the full censor certificate has pushed the timeline back. A source said the makers are now eyeing a November 20 release, with December 11 as another possible date. All‑India distribution will be handled by Jio Studios, and an official announcement of the final date is expected in a few days.

Context

The 2020 border clash, often called the Galwan Valley incident, has inspired several film projects, and Indian censors review such content for political sensitivity. A U/A 16+ rating means children under 16 may watch the film with parental guidance.
