Sleep Struggle
Amitabh Bachchan, who turns 84 next week, says he is unable to get enough sleep because of his jam‑packed schedule and a racing mind. In a blog post he wrote that night sleep is the body’s best repair mechanism but he struggles to find time for it. He said he now wants to go to bed early so he can rest and wake up early for work. He described his mind as filled with many thoughts, ideas and a drive to conquer goals, which keeps him awake.
Knee Injury
During a recent shoot of Kaun Banega Crorepati he slipped and injured his left knee, prompting him to sit down for his opening monologue. He told the audience the injury was not serious and that he faced a little difficulty standing. A day later he appeared at a book launch in Mumbai with wife Jaya Bachchan and writer Gulzar.
Ongoing Work
Despite his age, Bachchan continues to host KBC on Sony and act in films such as Vettaiyan and Uunchai. In 2024 he played Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s sci‑fi film Kalki 2898 AD, performing several action sequences, and will reprise the role in the sequel.
Context
The actor’s comments highlight how a demanding career can impact sleep even for senior stars, and his quick return to public events shows his commitment to stay active in Indian entertainment.
