Actor Abhishek Bachchan shared a childhood memory of playing a prank on Archana Puran Singh during an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show. The incident took place during the early 1990s at a gathering held to celebrate Amitabh Bachchan winning his first National Film Award for Best Actor for the film Agneepath.

The Prank

Abhishek, who was about 13 or 14 years old at the time, admitted to being a mischievous teenager. He spotted Archana at the celebration and shoved her straight into the water while she was wearing a mini skirt. Archana recalled that the young actor snuck up behind her to pull off the surprise dip.

Reactions

After falling into the water, Archana reacted by using some strong language that the young Abhishek did not understand. He mistakenly thought she was mentioning his mother or sister in her remarks. Archana later cleared up that she did not direct any harsh words at Jaya Bachchan. She also noted that Amitabh and Jaya were extremely embarrassed by their son's behavior and apologized to her repeatedly. Amitabh even offered her his own kurta pyjama from his upstairs room to change into, an offer she politely declined.

Later Influences

During the same conversation, Archana teased Abhishek about his habit of playing pranks and wondered if he picked up those tricks from actor Ajay Devgn. Abhishek worked as a spot production assistant on an early film with Ajay, and he readily blamed Ajay for being the mastermind behind various mischiefs on set alongside Ajay's makeup man, Harish.
