Devgn CineX has opened two new premium multiplexes, one in Gurugram and another in Rajkot, marking the latest push in its nationwide rollout. The Gurugram venue sits inside Vista Square Mall, developed by SMARR Realty in Sector 82A, and houses 574 seats spread across several halls, including a screen roughly 55 feet wide, touted as among the city’s largest. The Rajkot site is located in Marvel Plus Mall at Mavdi, also offering 574 seats across five auditoriums, one of which features Dolby Atmos sound. Both centres equip every auditorium with recliner chairs and provide a range of multicuisine and gourmet food options. Patrons can order meals and services by scanning QR codes from their seats, allowing them to stay seated throughout the film. QR‑based ordering is part of the chain’s push for contact‑less, tech‑enabled service. Prior to these openings, Devgn CineX already operated 60 screens across 20 properties in 19 cities and has announced plans to add 30 more screens within the year, following earlier launches in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, which were the first steps in a series of expansions targeting high‑growth markets. CEO Ajay Agrawal said the new sites are not just geographic expansions but efforts to build stronger ties with local movie‑goers and deliver memorable experiences. The brand’s strategy centers on blending advanced cinema technology with hospitality to create next‑generation entertainment destinations across India.

Context

The move reflects a broader trend among Indian cinema chains to upgrade facilities and offer premium services in order to compete with streaming platforms and draw audiences back to theatres.
