Fifty-Four Scholars Honoured at India Research and Impact Summit 2026

UPDATE - follow-up to 54 Indian researchers receive Careers360 Faculty Research Awards at IRIS 2026: Fifty-four researchers from both public and private higher education institutions received honours at the third edition of the Careers360 Faculty Research Awards in New Delhi. The event took place during the India Research and Impact Summit 2026.

Selection and Fields

The winners represent 27 academic fields. In 26 of these fields, one scholar from a public institution and one from a private institution were chosen, while both winners in a single field came from public institutions. Organisers selected the recipients using their publications, citations, and H-index data from academic research indices. The awarded scholars belong to institutions like IIT Kanpur, IIM Mumbai, AIIMS New Delhi, the University of Hyderabad, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and several others.

Summit Discussions

The summit hosted panel talks on the challenges facing Indian research, looking at funding, faculty availability, institutional setups, and industry-academia partnerships. Other sessions explored how to measure research impact on business and society, whether universities focus more on output or impact, and the fairness of ranking frameworks. The event featured keynotes by NITI Aayog member Prof Abhay Karandikar and Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Sribharat Mathukumilli.
