The makers of the Indian epic Ramayana are weighing the idea of paid previews on the evening of Wednesday, November 4, followed by a full release on Thursday, November 5. A trade source said the plan is not final and a decision is expected within a few days because international partners such as Sony Pictures and IMAX need to be briefed on the global rollout. Clarity on the schedule should come by the end of this week or early next week. In the same week, the Japanese monster film Godzilla Minus Zero will open in India on Friday, November 6, matching its North‑American debut. Like Ramayana, Godzilla Minus Zero will be shown in IMAX, but due to the local film’s higher anticipated demand, the monster movie is likely to receive only a single IMAX screening per theatre, with the remaining slots reserved for Ramayana. Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Limited and CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, confirmed that Godzilla Minus Zero will indeed release in India during the same week as Ramayana. ## Context Paid previews let producers gauge audience reaction and generate buzz before a wide release. IMAX screens are limited, so distributors often prioritize films expected to draw larger crowds, which explains the single‑show allocation for Godzilla Minus Zero.
