Soundarya Rajinikanth has spoken out against online trolls who body-shamed actor Katrina Kaif over her post-pregnancy appearance. The criticism began after Katrina attended the Ambani family's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in September.

Soundarya's Comments

Speaking on Nayandeep Rakshit's YouTube channel, Soundarya called the backlash unfair and unkind. As a mother of two who had her second child past the age of 35, she noted that physical changes during and after pregnancy are difficult. She stated that society needs to respect what a woman's body goes through physically.

Other Celebrity Reactions

Several other film personalities have also defended Katrina against the online abuse. On Bigg Boss 20, Salman Khan criticized trolls and paparazzi for targeting mothers, noting that weight gain after pregnancy is normal and pointing out that anonymous trolls profit from such abuse. Parineeti Chopra also condemned the remarks, questioning who has the right to judge a new mother's body and advising women to ignore such uneducated comments. Earlier supporters of Katrina also included Khushbu Sundar. Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Vihaan, in November last year.

Context

Online harassment of public figures, particularly women post-childbirth, has drawn increasing pushback from film industry members who use public platforms to call out cyberbullying. Social media platforms face ongoing scrutiny over anonymous trolling, while public figures continue to advocate for stronger empathy toward postpartum physical changes.
