The Investigation

Prime accused Indushekhar allegedly transported seven bodies from a building in Rajajinagar to four different locations over fifteen days without being caught by police checkpoints or night patrols. The locations included Mysuru, Shiradi Ghat in the Western Ghats, the Tamil Nadu border, and Chickballapur. The accused brought the bodies down from the second floor of a building situated near Bhashyam Circle, which is three kilometres from Majestic and connects to Chord Road. Indushekhar is accused of killing his wife and six members of her family.

Police Response and Route Planning

A senior police officer stated that investigating the accused's unhindered movement is part of their probe, though recovering the bodies remains the immediate priority. Authorities have deployed a team to recreate the movements of the accused and gather footage following October 16 to check for officer negligence or whether he passed through checkpoints. Investigators suspect the accused deliberately planned his routes in advance to avoid checkpoints and toll plazas. Police also noted a past 2025 case in C.K. Acchukattu where an accused transported a body alone on a scooter from Madiwala and similarly avoided police routes.

Family Allegations

Meanwhile, the family of victim Nalini alleged that the Srirampura police initially refused to register a missing-person complaint on November 1, only registering it on November 3. A senior police officer confirmed that an assistant commissioner of police-rank officer is conducting an inquiry into this delay.

Context

Police checkpoints and night patrols are routine security measures in major cities intended to deter crime and monitor suspicious transport, yet clever planning by offenders can sometimes exploit gaps in coverage. Investigators often review toll and security camera footage after major crimes to map out suspect travel routes. Missing person reports require prompt registration by law enforcement to ensure timely action in potential criminal investigations.
