What Happened

Mr. Patekar is suspected to have suffered a heart attack after being found unconscious at his apartment in Dona Paula, near Panaji. A friend received a message from the actor at 3.30 a.m. stating he was not feeling well, and rushed to the apartment upon seeing it around 4 a.m. The actor was living with a caretaker, who rushed to a private hospital to get help. An ambulance was sent, and treatment started inside the vehicle. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, a senior doctor at the medical facility, stated that CPR was given for 45 minutes, but the actor could not be revived and was declared dead at 5.10 a.m. A medico-legal case has been registered, and his body was sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim for a postmortem to find the exact cause of death.
