Veteran actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75 following a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa. Dr Shekhar Salkar from Manipal Hospital stated that the actor messaged a friend at around 2:30 am on Thursday to say he was unwell, but the message was seen late. His friend reached his house around 4 am to find him sweating and gasping, after which a caretaker was sent to fetch a hospital ambulance.
Medical Details
When the emergency team arrived, they administered CPR at the residence and shifted him to Manipal Hospital, where he was declared dead at around 5:20 am. Because he was brought dead, a medico-legal case was filed, and the body was moved to Goa Medical College for a post-mortem. His son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the death and stated that the funeral would be held in Pune.

Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar announced that the veteran performer will receive a state funeral, a decision taken by the state government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Political leaders and film personalities, including Jr NTR, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kiara Advani, and Rakul Preet Singh, shared tributes. Chief Minister Fadnavis also noted Patekar's work with drought-hit communities through the Naam Foundation.
