The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the examination forms for private candidates for the Class 10 and 12 board exams 2027 on its official website, cbse.gov.in. Students who failed last year or want to improve their marks can apply online. The regular application window closes on October 23, 2026.

Fees And Late Deadlines

Applicants can pay the fees through Internet Banking, UPI, Debit Card, or Credit Card, as offline deposits are not accepted. The theory exam fee is Rs 320 per subject for Indian students, Rs 1,100 for students from Nepal, and Rs 2,200 for students from other countries. For practical subjects, the fee is Rs 160 for Indian students, Rs 175 for students from Nepal, and Rs 375 for other countries. Students who miss the regular deadline can apply from October 24 to October 31 by paying a late fee of Rs 2,000.

Form Rules And Guidelines

Details of past candidates will be auto-fetched in the system, and applicants can only apply for auto-generated subjects. The board warns that wrong entries, false statements, or fake documents will lead to form rejection and forfeiture of fees. Examination centres are allotted based on the city chosen in the online form, and this choice cannot be changed later.

Context

Private candidate forms allow students who need a second chance at passing or improving their scores to appear for board examinations without regular school enrollment. The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts these annual examinations for millions of students across India and abroad.
