Form Submission

The Central Board of Secondary Education has started the form submission process for Class 10 and 12 private candidates appearing in the board exams. Students can submit their forms online through the official website at cbse.gov.in. This process applies to students who could not pass last year or wish to improve their marks.

Important Dates and Fees

The regular application window closes on October 23, 2026. Students who miss this deadline can still apply from October 24 to October 31 by paying a late fee of two thousand rupees in addition to the normal fees. For Indian students, the theory exam fee is 320 rupees per subject, and the practical fee is 160 rupees per practical subject. Payment must be made digitally through internet banking, UPI, debit cards, or credit cards, as offline payments deposited by schools or candidates are not accepted.

Application Guidelines

Applicants can apply only for subjects that are auto-generated in the system, and details of students who appeared last year will be auto-fetched. Candidates can correct their application details, including subjects and exam centres, until the final submission date. However, once a city is allotted for the examination centre based on the form, no changes will be allowed. The board has also warned that forms will be rejected and fees forfeited if candidates make wrong entries, provide false statements, or submit fake documents.

Context

Private candidate forms are meant for students studying outside regular school classrooms, such as private repeaters or improvement candidates. The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts these annual examinations for millions of students across affiliated schools nationwide.
