BMW Motorrad is expanding its 450 platform with a new fully faired sports motorcycle, which is expected to be named the F 450 RR. A teaser shared on social media on October 8 announced a global reveal for the bike on Thursday, October 15, at 5 PM CEST, or 8:30 PM IST.
Design And Features
The teaser image shows a sports-bike silhouette with a full fairing, a raised windscreen, and mirrors on the front cowl. A sculpted fuel tank flows into a low seat, and a sharply raised tail gives the bike an aggressive look. The handlebars are positioned lower than the F 450 R roadster, creating a forward-leaning riding posture. The bike features alloy wheels, a front disc brake, and a compact rear section.
Engine And Performance
The upcoming model is expected to share its engine with the F 450 GS and F 450 R. Although it carries a 450 name, the platform uses a 420cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. On the F 450 R, this unit puts out 48 horsepower at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Similar output numbers are likely for the RR version.
Context
This upcoming sports bike follows BMW's established three-model strategy for its small-capacity platforms, mirroring the structure of the earlier G 310 lineup. The new motorcycle will be built at the TVS plant in India alongside its platform siblings, continuing the existing partnership between the two companies. An India launch for the new sports bike is expected in 2027.
