Trump renews offer to UFC boss Dana White for White House press secretary

UPDATE - follow-up to Trump offers UFC chief Dana White press secretary job: President Donald Trump reiterated his invitation to UFC president and CEO Dana White to serve as the White House press secretary on Saturday.
Offer Details
Trump posted the invitation on his Truth Social account, describing White as a “fighter and warrior” and saying the nation needs “people who can stand up to the Lunatic Left.” He wrote that White would be “a press secretary unlike any other” and asked him to accept the role. The president also noted that the offer extended to some of White’s staff, including former and current UFC fighters from Brazil and Russia, even though they are not U.S. citizens. Earlier in the day, White shared an Instagram story showing himself behind the press secretary’s podium with a caption suggesting a new phase, but did not confirm acceptance.
White's Reaction
CNN, citing a source, reported that White turned down the offer. The Instagram post left observers unsure whether it was a joke or a genuine acknowledgment.
White House Changes
The offer comes amid a rapid turnover in the communications team. In October, Katie Zacharia quit after only one briefing, having replaced Karoline Leavitt five days earlier. Trump said he advised her to step down after she fielded questions from only three conservative outlets. On the same day, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller was promoted to chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles, following the Democrats’ mid‑term sweep that gave them control of both chambers.
Context
The move highlights Trump’s strategy of placing loyal allies in high‑profile roles after a significant electoral loss, while also reflecting his long‑standing personal ties with White, who has praised Trump since the 2016 campaign and hosted a UFC match on the White House lawn for Trump’s 80th birthday.
