Hero MotoCorp has teased a new version of the Xtreme 160R 4V motorcycle featuring revised visual aesthetics and a likely TFT instrument cluster. The teaser video shows only the exhaust and a rear tyre hugger hinged from both sides, while the bike performs a burnout with the caption 'Gear Up To Live Extreme'. The official launch is expected to happen on October 16th or 17th of 2026.

Market Rivalry And Pricing

When the new model arrives, it will compete against other 160cc sporty motorcycles such as the recently updated Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V and the TVS Motor TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. The current Xtreme 160R 4V starts at Rs 1.35 lakh for the non-ETB variant and goes up to Rs 1.38 lakh for the ETB variant with an Electronic Throttle Body, with both prices listed as ex-showroom. The November 2025 Combat Edition previously brought features like an electronic throttle body, cruise control, three riding modes, Class D LED headlights, and a colour LCD instrument cluster supporting Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation.

Expected Specifications

The upcoming update aims to counter rival models that already offer TFT screens with Google Maps mirroring. Hero MotoCorp might include a TFT cluster this time to match or exceed competitors, while carrying forward features like panic braking alert, all-LED lighting, three ride modes, cruise control, and the electronic throttle body. Mechanical power is expected to come from the same 163.2cc single-cylinder engine with a 4V head and an oil-cooler, producing 16.9 PS and 14.6 Nm of torque through a 5-speed gearbox, alongside disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, radial tyres, KYB USD front forks, and a rear mono-shock.

Context

Motorcycle manufacturers frequently update their popular street naked lineups with cosmetic changes and new technology features to stay ahead in India's highly competitive commuter-sport segment. Upgrading instrument clusters to modern digital displays helps brands attract younger buyers looking for smartphone connectivity and advanced rider aids.
