Cockroach Janta Party national organisation in-charge Ajinkya Shinde will lead the upcoming protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. CJP founder and convener Abhijeet Dipke announced this leadership plan in a pre-recorded video, which he made public in anticipation of a potential arrest after he was detained and allegedly taken to an undisclosed location.
Leadership Succession
In the video message recorded the night before, Dipke stated that if he and fellow CJP co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Rana were detained, Shinde would take charge of the movement. Shinde previously organized the pressure group's Mumbai agitation earlier this month and has emerged as a key face for the party. He also helped spearhead the 'School Thik Karo' campaign, which aimed to improve government school conditions across India.
Past Legal Action
Shinde was previously booked alongside Dipke and other CJP leaders for illegal gathering and sloganeering in Dadar on Gandhi Jayanti. That police case also named Pranav Ahire, Ashutosh Ranka, Saurabh Das, Afreen Nawaz, Saumya Korde, Ankit Bharadwaj, Vijay Malangi, Yogesh Ingle, and over 400 supporters.
Context
Pressure groups like the Cockroach Janta Party frequently use public demonstrations and digital campaigns to draw attention to specific governance demands. Leadership succession plans are often shared publicly by activists ahead of expected police detentions during high-profile political agitations.
