Honda's adventure‑styled ADV160 scooter brochure has been released, confirming a launch price of Rs 1.70 lakh but showing that deliveries will now begin only after New Year 2027.

What Happened

The brochure appeared on Honda’s official website, revealing a 156.93 cc liquid‑cooled four‑valve engine that makes 12 kW (≈16.32 PS) at 8,750 rpm and 14.9 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Power reaches the rear wheel through a CVT automatic transmission and is managed by PGM‑FI fuel injection, eSP+ technology, an Idling Stop System and an ACG silent starter. Honda markets the model as India’s first E85 flex‑fuel scooter, able to run on ethanol blends from E20 up to E85, though fuel‑efficiency numbers are absent.

Features

The scooter offers an 8.1‑litre fuel tank, 27‑litre under‑seat storage, and a front‑fill fuel port that does not require opening the seat. A front compartment houses a 15 W USB‑C charger. Dimensions measure 1,966 mm long, 758 mm wide, 1,116 mm high with a 1,333 mm wheelbase; kerb weight is 137 kg and ground clearance 175 mm. It rides on 14‑inch front and 13‑inch rear alloy wheels fitted with 110/80 front and 130/70 rear block‑pattern tyres. Both wheels have disc brakes, and a single‑channel ABS protects the front wheel. Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) aids rear‑wheel traction and can be switched off. Safety adds hazard lamps and a side‑stand engine cut‑off. A 5‑inch TFT display provides custom layouts, while Honda RoadSync links a smartphone for navigation, calls, messages, music and weather. The Smart Key with H‑Smart technology enables keyless entry and scooter location. Styling includes dual LED headlamps, LED indicators, a tall windscreen, a stepped seat, split pillion grab rails and colour options of Mat Dune Brown, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Athletic Blue Metallic and Mat Axis Gray Metallic.

Missing Specs

The brochure does not list seat height, mileage figures or suspension travel and adjustment details, leaving buyers without full data on accessibility, running cost or ride comfort.

Context

Flex‑fuel capability lets owners choose ethanol blends based on price and availability, a growing trend in Indian two‑wheelers aimed at reducing dependence on pure petrol.
