The seventh Mumba International Film Festival concluded with its closing ceremony and awards night at the National Film Archive of India auditorium on Prabhat Road, where the films Halgi and Malavazhi won top honours. Film and Television Institute of India Vice-Chancellor Dheeraj Singh attended the event as the chief guest. He noted that the strong response at the festival brings hope for short films at a time when production numbers seemed to be slowing down. Singh also praised the Mumba Film Foundation for successfully managing the heavy task of running a festival focused on short films, documentaries, and features. Director-producer Kedar Shinde spoke about the value of independent cinema platforms. He noted that Mumbai has kept its consistency year after year in holding such events. Several prominent figures took the stage during the ceremony, including festival organiser Jai Bhosale, festival director Virendra Chitrav, managing director Abhishek Avchar, filmmaker Mark Bennington, filmmaker Sameer Soni, and actor Shilpa Shirodkar. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the National Film Development Corporation, and FTII all provided support for this year's edition.
