Audi India plans to launch the third-generation Q3 SUV on Friday, 16 October, replacing the older model as the company's entry-level vehicle in the country.
Performance And Mechanics
Under the hood, the new Q3 uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that makes 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This motor links to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and includes Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system as a standard feature. The car reaches zero to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds. The vehicle features a European-style firm suspension setup paired with 55-profile tyres, alongside a variable-ratio steering system.
Cabin And Equipment
Inside, the cabin features a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 11.9-inch digital driver's display, replacing much of the old leather with fabric trim. Equipment includes a 12-speaker Sonos sound system, a panoramic sunroof, powered and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and auto-park assist. However, the model lacks seat ventilation, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems like lane-keep assist or blind-spot monitoring, while offering only a turbo-petrol engine with no diesel, hybrid, or electric choices at launch.
Context
Compact luxury SUVs like the Q3 compete heavily in the Indian market against established rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1. Brands often bring global models to India with specific powertrain limits based on local demand and import strategies.
