Reported by Aditya Chauhan (Staff Writer) · Hindustan Times - Entertainment ·
Confirmed by a second source: NDTV - Entertainment
Actor Mithun Chakraborty agreed to play the villain in Jailer 2 only after setting a strict condition that lead star Rajinikanth would neither beat him up nor shoot him on screen. Rajinikanth shared this detail at the Jailer 2 Super Show event, noting that Mithun initially turned down the role when the production team first approached him. Mithun later changed his mind after meeting Rajinikanth in person at the WAVES Summit, where the Prime Minister was also present. Once Rajinikanth encouraged him to take the part, Mithun agreed on the single rule about avoiding action scenes where he takes hits from the lead hero. The two actors last worked together in the 1989 political crime drama Bhrashtachar and later appeared in the 1997 film Bhagya Debata.
