Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Glanza in India with prices ranging from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 10.98 lakh ex-showroom, marking an increase of about Rs 26,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the old model. Rushlane reports that bookings are open for Rs 11,000, and deliveries are set to begin in the first week of November 2026 across five grades named E, S, G, V and V(O).

Design And Features

The hatchback features a more aggressive front fascia with a taller middle section that joins the upper grille and lower intake into a single piece. The redesigned bumper holds rectangular fog lamps, while the exterior adds side skirts, a sharkfin antenna, and two new paint options called Digital Teal Green and Bluish Black, bringing the total color choices to seven. Cabin upgrades include leatherette upholstery and front seat ventilation for the V and V(O) trims, a new Clarion audio system, a 9-inch touchscreen on the mid-spec G, and a wireless charger with active cooling. Lower trims lose out on automatic AC, but standard safety kit now includes six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, and ISOFIX anchors, while the new top-spec V(O) brings Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Engine And Mileage

The previous 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine is replaced by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series unit that puts out 83hp and 112Nm of torque, which is a drop of 7hp and 1Nm. Transmission choices remain a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Petrol mileage rises to 23.80kpl for the manual and 24.77kpl for the AMT. CNG variants now feature automatic engine stop-start technology and gain a new AMT option rated at 34.47km/kg, while the CNG manual mileage climbs to 33.61km/kg with power output at 70hp and torque at 102Nm. The updated car also weighs up to 30kg more than its predecessor.

Context

Mid-cycle updates like this allow carmakers to refresh aging models with updated safety gear and powertrain options to compete against rivals like the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Tata Altroz. The inclusion of automated manual transmissions on alternative-fuel variants reflects a growing consumer demand for automatic convenience across different fuel types in the Indian market.
