Competition And Cast

The box office speed for Drishyam 3 has slowed down due to the upcoming nationwide release of Rajinikanth's highly anticipated sequel, Jailer 2. Jailer 2 has already crossed 80 crore rupees in worldwide advance bookings for its opening weekend and aims for a 140 crore rupee opening day. Drishyam 3 brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside actors Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant. Saurabh Shukla also returns in a cameo role from the second part. The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak, who co-wrote the script with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. It is backed by producers Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios.

Context

Big-budget Indian film sequels often experience a sharp drop in ticket sales once a major new competitor arrives in theatres, as audiences shift their attention to fresh releases. Advance booking numbers before a film hits the screen give a clear early sign of public interest and help producers gauge opening weekend earnings.
