Indian stock market benchmark indices opened higher on Thursday despite weak global cues and US inflation fears, with the BSE Sensex gaining over 350 points and the Nifty 50 rising past 100 points. Investors tracking corporate actions are focusing on three specific companies trading on their ex-dates today for dividends, stock splits, and bonus shares.

Corporate Actions

Anand Rathi Wealth shares are trading ex-date for a cash dividend of four rupees per share. The financial firm earlier declared this interim dividend for the 2026-27 financial year, representing eighty percent of its five-rupee face value, with the record date set for October 15, 2026. Meanwhile, Samor Reality shares are trading ex-date for a ten-to-two stock split, which sub-divides each fully paid-up equity share of ten rupees into five shares of two rupees each. In addition, OneClick Logistics India shares are trading ex-date for a one-is-to-two bonus issue, offering one new bonus share for every two existing shares held by eligible members.

Eligibility Rules

Mahesh M Ojha, VP for Research and Business Development at KC Securities, explained that to receive these corporate rewards, an investor must hold the company stock in their demat account after the session ends on the record date. Due to current settlement cycles like T-plus-zero and T-plus-one, investors need to purchase the stock on or before the ex-date to ensure the shares are credited to their demat accounts in time.

Context

Corporate actions like dividends, stock splits, and bonus issues are common methods used by listed companies to reward shareholders and improve stock liquidity. Buying shares on or before the ex-date ensures that the exchange registers the buyer as the legal owner by the record date set by the board.
