Meta to Send Child Abuse Reports Directly to Indian Cybercrime Portal

Meta announced it will forward child‑safety reports straight to India's national cybercrime portal. The decision follows growing government scrutiny over claims that paid ads on Meta platforms were linked to child sexual abuse material. Meta said the direct reporting will speed up removal of illegal content and help authorities act quickly. Earlier, Indian officials had asked tech firms to cooperate more closely on CSAM cases. Under the new process, any identified child sexual abuse material will be sent to the portal for investigation and possible legal action. The company also pledged to improve monitoring tools and work with law‑enforcement agencies to prevent future incidents.
