Film Selections

Eleven feature projects have been chosen for the JAFF Future Project development strand at Indonesia's JAFF Market. The selections include Boo Junfeng's 'Trinity' and Sidharta Tata's 'Slaughterground' as works in progress, alongside nine other projects in development. The broader feature lineup features entries from Singapore, Australia, the Philippines, and various international co-productions, encompassing themes of family, faith, memory, identity, and migration. Additionally, the market picked 10 intellectual properties for its adaptation-focused JAFF IP Connection program, spanning books, comics, a board game, and a webtoon from Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Market Details

The third edition of JAFF Market is powered by Amar Bank and will run at the Jogja Expo Center in Yogyakarta during the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival. International partnerships have shaped several selections, including an Australian entry through the Adelaide Film Festival and mylab, and two Korean intellectual properties via the Asian Contents & Film Market. Both participating slates will also feed into the market's first Producers Exchange to set up meetings with delegates and partners.

Context

Film markets and development strands help early-stage projects secure financing, co-production partners, and distribution channels across international borders. The Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival has operated since 2006, serving as a regional hub for Asian cinema and industry collaboration.
